Also I just got a reply from my Kimsufi ticket and it's been escalated to their billing department so that's good. :)

So I have always heard about a 200 Mbit/s port at online.net and better network ports not being available without a proper $$$ upgrade. Is this acctually not the case anymore? So do all their servers come with a shared 1 Gbit/s port and 200 Mbit/s is just the promised peak speed? Too bad they still wont offer PayPal :/ Otherwhise I'd been with them before long...

200Mbps is the guaranteed speed but the port itself is 1Gbps.

Makes me even more sad they wont offer PayPal :(
But if you dont have any problems with paying by MC go with them, really.

Fair enough. It's more the general idea that ovh/online type of company have shit support on their 7-20$/month dedicated. I don't even expect good support beside quick hardware replacement on my OVH 159$/month dedicated.

I'm curious though, what is your billing problem? Do you mean that they actually charge you more than what is advertised on their website and refuse to adjust you?

They're charging me $6/month instead of $5/month. I don't really care if the new price is $6/month but I was hoping somebody there can explain it and update their website if that's the case. I noticed I paid $6 last month also but with the setup fee I didn't notice until renewal time came around. They aren't refusing to adjust the price (yet), it just took them a while to respond to my ticket and so far the only response (as of ~15 minutes ago) has been they are escalating to billing so I'm sure it'll either get fixed or explained in the next day or two.

Oh wow... there is nothing I hate more than provider their prices and act dumb about it.

I voted for online.net, setup a virtual euro card, load it with some funds and pay in euro's you can avoid some fees.

@KuJoe tried to adjust the billing on my old Kimsufi, said they can't and I gotta order a new server.

I guess most virtual CCs still charge their fair share ofb% eh?

Keep online.net . They host porn* and have nice customer support. Even when you only pay $0.00000001 for your server, they respond very quickly. Gigabit uplink <3

I was happy with my kimsufi, but no one ever tried to fix my problems.

  • Cancel both.

Reorder KS1. You should be getting a 1 TB HDD and 4 gigs of RAM, with the KS1.

What is a better option that isn't a VPS?

  • btw, Oles from OVH may hint at a new Kimsufi?

My KS1 has better Uptime and less issues as my Kidichire, they dont even want to help you on the Ticket the first time. Just come back again, give us some mtr's but if the issue is periodic.

It wont really help in my case, cause as soon you doing the mtr's again its gone.

I guess they dont really monitor that or they know and hide it. No idea.

Then... It wasn't really a big deal in the first place... networks fluctuate... it's part of how the internet works... if your "issue" is a short blip that can't be replicated, you probably shouldn't be wasting support's time with it. What do you expect them to do?

Actually it happend already multiple times, confirmed from 4 Locations.

Otherwise it would not Trigger a 1500ms timeout.

After like 30 mins its just gone, until it triggers your monitoring again.

I need really setup also automatic mtr's.

  • @Neoon said:

So... like I said.. why bother then? It's clearly not a consistent problem... A temporary network blip that can't be replicated 30 minutes later couldn't have been fixed anyways considering the chain of support agents/network engineers that would have to review the problem before action can be taken.

You need to have your expectations more in line with your budget.

Did you even read bro? If it happens multiple times, so it is consistent, even its just over seconds.

You need to have your expectations more in line with your budget.

Well, my 2$ YearlyPS with 4x IPv4 has better connectivity and Uptime als my kidichire already.

Thats not the way it works.

Try Revolut if it's available in your country.

Looks like Kimsufi is making the decision for me. If they don't reply to my ticket soon the server will be cancelled anyways. :(
