    I believe rsk was talking about in Solus when you request the console session (before the console even loads) it also generates a user/pass you can connect to SSH with. Unless he could not even get to that page..

    Yes I understand what he meant, but OP clearly said (in comments) that the console does not work.

    @ikeyz

    The console page generated the username and password, when you tried to connect

    (i'm a mac user so I go to terminal and enter

    ssh console-OaPZLc@IPHERE -p 22

    it would just say
    ssh_exchange_identification: read: Connection reset by peer

    they finally fixed the issue today after more than a month

    Public the IP will put the whole node at risk.

    ElCheapo probably will hack into your box right over mysql, if every other starting point fails ^^

    Ahah! ElCheapo is no hacker! :p

    Just in case anyone cares, my OpenVZ VPS with Webline Services will not allow emergency console access using the parameters supplied in the SolusVM interface. Even though SolusVM will give you the parameters to access the console for just such an emergency, Webline Services blocks the connection. I have raised the issue in the past, but they refuse to change their policy, citing security concerns, because the console connects to the host node directly.
