Did you get this message after you rebooted your server?

  • Sounds more like a routing issue then latency.

I am not sure if this is related to DNS or not , but i have had similar problems with a few of my online.net Dedi's , specifically with Debian .

Try switching to using google dns or some other dns.

It's either unplugged, suspended or networking is f'd.

Destination host unreachable means just that.

seems it happen when i use iptables and only allow my ip on port 22 (ssh) and 21 (ftp) lold, why the hell ovh/sys need to know if my ports are open ? wtf

  • their system requires your dedicated server pingable, else it'll go into "intervention"

Just disable monitoring through the control panel?

  • i can not since they told me then they can not start server intervention or how they call it

  • why not include OVH IPs? http://help.ovh.com/Firewall
