Looking for LES-style VPSes for Tinc

edited February 2016 in Requests

So... I'm back.

Loking for some LowEndSpirit-styled, NAT VPSes, with unmetered bandwidth, to hook up to my Tinc cluster.

Currently have boxes in the following locations:

  • Singapore (DO SG, LHC [LeaseWeb] SG)
  • France (Free NAT VPS from @exception0x876 on OVH, thanks!)
  • Los Angeles, USA (HostUS, AlphaRacks)

Just need enough RAM and HDD space to run Tinc, looking for price range of (per year):

$0 ≤ x ≤ $3

where

x

is the price.

Like my previous requests, no GVH shell companies (or NWC, sorry), but I'm looking for a provider (or maybe, even an individual too (if you have a decent repute here).

  • Closes with unmetered is i-83.net.

Will be running Tinc on it, will probably get banned for using bandwidth :D

  • there is new location Russia in LES

  • Unmetered bandwidth I cannot do, unfortunately.. :(

But what I can do is a free VPS.

    How much bandwidth? :)

    How about 500GB on 1Gbit?

    Russia, very interesting!

Only reason I will get Russian VPSes is probably to do my Linux ISO distribution better :)

However I am just trying to minimize the latency between servers, don't think there's a need for Russian location here since my production nodes will always be in Singapore or Los Angeles, USA.

Will check out the specs of that later.

Willing to pay $3/year for that if its 128+128MB RAM, 1/2GB HDD. Location?

Not willing to deal with billing for that. It's free. PM me :)

CC Buffalo but if I'm feeling nice I might give you one in a private rack in Dacentec too. Just depends on how long it takes @Host4Geeks to sort things out on my new node.

H4G is still in business? How is that working out for you?

Their logo looks like Pizza Hut.

Yeah, it seems fine? Unless you can recommend another provider in Dacentec? :)

I would say just keep your BACKUPS (which you need to have anyway) and keep a backup provider handy.

What made you think we were going out of business at any point of time?

Never really been a choice for the LET market.

Yea, the first APC PDU on the rack is completely full, we're just waiting for DC staff to connect the second power drop to the second APC PDU. I should be able to get you something today.

Fair enough, but I always have a backup plan regardless of provider. H4G has been nothing but great for me so far, which is why this is my second server colocated with them.

Glad to hear it! I'll look forward to it. Could you give me a /29 allocation instead of 2 IPs as it'll save you from using /30 twice and wasting two IPs, unless it'll cost more?
