So why not go ahead and try it yourself?
@exception0x876 thanks, I saw that,
I didn't want to waste their time if I could help it.
The latency is high to their test IP which I would expect, but if I can pull 1MB/1MB to AU I would be happy with that.
I don't wanna post my IP but here's some speedtests for perth and sydney.
@hostnoob,
I assume your using the hosted 'mini' speed test to get those numbers?
They are much better than I expected. Thank you
I'm using the command line version from here
Upload is actually worse than 1MB (if you meant MegaBytes after all). You would get like 600KB/s download speed to your PC from their VPS according to @hostnoob tests.
PM'd you a link to a big file.
Be interested to see what speeds I get from my home in Sydney, if anyone could shoot me a PM with a 100MB test file I'd my appreciate it
@deadbeef, thanks. Was est. 24 hours to download 5Gb file.
So too slow for what I need it for.
Thanks for everyone's help
PM'd
Wow, very slow. I'm glad I could help.
I know that the Speedtest server is 8000 miles away, but the latency makes me cringe
Thanks Deadbeef, that seems to max out my connection of 1.3MB/s on ADSL2+ that's good to know
File was going to be done in three hours for a 5GB file.
This Thursday (2016-01-21) we plan to upgrade our network and offer faster connectivity outside Europe. Stay tuned for news
@time4vps, i might hold off a few days then...
I don't expect huge speeds, since Australian internet speeds internationally suck, just enough to do nightly backups.
@time4vps how did the upgrade go?
Any news?
I can typically hit 60-80Mbps from central US to time4vps.
Upgrade was a huge success. Some of our customers enjoying 10 - 15 times increased speed. I suggest to restart all speed tests and have a new, fresh look.
Hi,
can you send md 5~10GB link? I need to test it from my RamNode vps.
24 hours for 5 GB file...that's a really long time...
I can download 6 GB file in 10 hours from my servers to my PC. (I downloaded the Visual Studio 2015 Enterprise iso file)
Remember that I have a really slow internet connection at home.
Here goes my speedtest in my home:
Transfering data between NL and Time4VPS did not get above 90Mbit with a few tests at different times in a day. Most of the time slower, testing with 1000mb.bin files from multiple hosts.
