use any Crucial, Samsung etc
the enterprise logo is nothing really when it comes to SSD. most SSD are very reliable
Intel 730 is basically 1) a beef up controller version of S3500, and 2) a less "durable" NAND version of S3500. I have over two dozens of them running in my racks.
Preference for any Samsung model ?
Thanks, I will check both 730 and S3500
Intel
at home i use just the standard 850 pro's and in my main PC i use the SM951 NVMe
Not cheap but cool

Samsung announced 2 days ago they are coming out with a 16tb ssd. Wonder how long before they come down to sub par $200!
<$200 for 512GB :P Chinese SSD FTW
Cruxial MX200 has enterprise features and are super cheap. Claimed MTTF is also quite high. Havent had any failures yet myself.

$201, EVO 500GB can be found all day long for ~$155ish
Do you have some experience using Samsung Pro 850, Samsung Evo 850 or SanDisk SSD Extreme Pro on Servers.
Can someone please tell me durability for this models.
I only have less than 60 days of uptime with any of these models, but have over 10 KVM nodes that I have converted to SSD running either 850 PRO or EVO, I have 3+ years of use with 830/840 as LSI CacheCade. Some CacheCade are still in use as of today. I like to think I have a well known reputation for ultra high uptimes, I know some of the nodes I converted when taken offline had 1100+ days of uptime.
What is the difference in Pro and Extreme Pro? I have never heard of Extreme Pro, is it simply confusion on your part?
I made a very similar topic as this one recently
http://www.lowendtalk.com/discussion/71396/ssd-choice-for-node
I made the choice of Samsung over Intel to save on cost due to my history with Samsung and their previous durability.
The Samsung Pro and Evo uses different type of NAND. The Pro uses MLC which is older but faster I guess. No idea on Extreme Pro
Thank you I think Samsung 850 Pro should be good to chose for node HDD upgrade.
EVO has 5 year warranty and Pro has 10 year warranty so that should give you an idea of durability, unless they're around the same durability but they just charge more for the Pro for the +5 years of support they provide.
I was researching them a while ago and this is the biggest difference I found that would imply Pro lasts longer. Maybe someone can give more info?
In any case I doubt anyone will be using them for 10 years.
Not sure on that.
Intel SSD 520 series are extremely durable - I've seen 15000 power on hours with 300 MySQL databases on it working 24/7
