KVM Resource Monitor?

GaNiGaNi Member
edited January 2013 in General

Since SolusVM doesn't provide Disk Usage & RAM Usage info, I am looking for some script/plugin that would do. I am hosting game servers so I need to actively check the Memory/Disk and ssh is not possible when I'm mobile. Any suggestions are appreciated. (Except munin)

Thanks!

    If you have Apache/nginx with PHP running: http://status2k.com/ (or any real PHP status script)

    Anything on mobile status wise (There's an app for Android floating around in one of the threads here, for iPhones there's the SolusVM's official app, etc.) Forgot Solus probably doesn't have these available for KVM

    You can always just setup SNMP on your server and use a mobile SNMP Monitoring Application for it too.

    There's so many ways to monitor your resource usage.

    If you want more in-depth, Centreon/Nagios, Cacti, etc.

    Edit: Finally remembered what it was called. There's also phpSysinfo

    http://sourceforge.net/projects/phpsysinfo/?source=directory

    And then you can link it to Android: http://rk4an.github.com/psiandroid/

  • actually, there are some android app that provide disk usage and memory, check my post:

    http://www.lowendtalk.com/discussion/7283/solusvm-for-android-vpsmon

    just with api info.

  • @HalfEatenPie i use phpsysinfo on my dedicated servers, and psiandroid on my phone, works excellent.

    so you can check, load average, uptime, bandwithd, disk and ram.

  • @dedicados: I used to use phpsysinfo before I switched to a overall system. Actually I used it even before Android was out (then stopped using shortly after).

  • yes, i remember old versions, 2-3 years ago.

    @HalfEatenPie
    Thanks for the suggestion but Status2k uses sql which I don't want to install on the kvm

    Basically was looking for something similar to Status2k, just a little graph on memory, disk, ram and being light to memory.

    @dedicados
    I used to us aSolusVM(https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.soluslabs.asolusvm&hl=en) until I switched to KVM.

  • i have also in one server http://linfo.sf.net/, but no graphics, and in the others phpsysinfo

    i have never try a kvm machine, maybe is time to grab one and test, what can i do with it.

    Buy better phone.

  • @GaNi if you have android get "ConnectBot" great for SSH

  • @tux said: Buy better phone.

    This days a decent android do not cost too much.

  • plus.Amon.cx

    Its basically the same as any other virtualization except you actually have to install the OS (unless using a template).

    not 'exactly' what you want but have a look at virt-top and ntop, they can provide you with point in time info and you can batch them to then run against your own code to log info over time.

    You might also want to contact @joepie91 he created a XEN disk stats p/VPS disk and swap rrd system for me some time ago, in theory it should work on KVM with little or no tweaks he might be prepared to re-open the project for KVM based on a donation :)

    @Tux
    It's not about phone, I have Xperia Ion and a Bold 9900, its the network in my country. It's very much Superior than 4G... -_-

    @Dedicados
    Using it for over couple of months :)

    @NHRoel
    Ha, it's priced more than my KVM, lol.

    @AnthonySmith
    thanks, looking into it.

  • @GaNi It is one time price for unlimited server license. And slave servers requires nothing but agent installed, which is 1 single click.

  • @HalfEatenPie thank you!, maybe i try one, but need to get a location i dont have.
