I'll get things started $50
How many you have just one? Also what DC is it colo'd in? Would there be any chance of keeping it colo'd in its currently location to avoid shipping fees?
Just 1 unit. It's currently colo'd at Delimiter on a promo rate. I'm keeping the colo space and shipping in a new E3 - you'd need to hit up @MarkTurner about colo.
@MarkTurner how much would the colo be for this unit if I kept it in your Atlanta DC?
$55
p.s which DC exactly ?
Read up 2 comments - Delimiter (Yomura's DC)
Delimiter has no DC I believe.
Come on @agoldenberg
not owned but rented racks or cages in a large no. probably ?
thnx
Current Bid: $55
(just making it easier for people to see, as this is going to get derailed any minute now)
Delimiter is within Yomura's (its parent company) private datacentre at 55 Marietta Street. Yomura is the direct lessee with the building owner.
The datacentre is owned/operated by Yomura.
There is a simple test for ownership vs rack/cage renting:
Who owns the environmental equipment eg air conditioners - Yomura.
Who installed all the electrical equipment - UPS's, transformers, electrical distribution - Yomura.
Who is the company of record for the electrical and water permits - Yomura.
Who is responsible for the service and maintenance of the HVAC, UPS, electrical distribution - Yomura.
Who's name is on the electricity bill from the utility company - Yomura.
Who's name is on the front door - Yomura (and only Yomura).
If a company is renting rack space they just have control of a rack/cage, they don't maintain the infrastructure or install it in the first place.
Secondly if they won't be billed by the utility company, they'll just be billed by the colo provider.
any promo on Colo ?
What do you need?
cheap?
Like $7??
Might just be able to stretch to a Raspberry Pi for that.
Is local pick up an option?
Umm.. @MarkTurner is that an option?
He is the voice of delimiter not the hands. AFAIR he's UK based
He has to fly in just to un-rack this thing I figure he'd know the answer or who to ask.
Potentially, but there will be charges to handle it. @Mikeyur will need to find out the costs and determine whether he wants to pay them.
@CheapVPSList I'm gonna say no then. Shipping/courier within the city should be cheap. I don't think I'll get a price back in the next 12 hrs before this ends and based on remote hands rates it'll likely cost more than shipping.
$7 for 1a, 5tb? Sounds good
