    I know it sounds wasteful, but the "greenest" way to deal with old hardware often is to recycle or dispose of it - i know continuing to get mileage out of old stuff sounds good but over time that $200 ebay server is going to cost closer to what a new server does when you are paying an extra $20-30/mo for extra amps
