Looking for VPS with low RAM and high BW

I'm currently running a small DNS cluster with 2 nodes (free VPSs) and cPanel DNSONLY. However, because the free VPSs do not have sufficient bandwidth (10GB), I would like replacement nodes with the specs below (do note that they are MINIMUMS):
-128MB RAM
-10GB Disk
-2TB Bandwidth
-1 vCPU
-Decent uplink speed
-Budget: $1/month per node

Thanks!

  • Arubacloud does not take Bitcoin, and I have heard that they have issues, so that's not an option. Datacentec is out of stock. I will consider BudgetVZ, thanks!

Pay yearly you'll find a lot of providers with less than $12/year plans.

How many zones are you hosting to require 2TB bandwidth?

  • gestiondbigestiondbi Member, Patron Provider

    What about:

    • 1 CPU Core
    • 512 MB Dedicated RAM
    • Disk Space 50GB
    • 1 Dedicated IPv4
    • IPv6 Subnet
    • 1 TB Bandwidth on 1gbps port
    • OpenVZ Technology

    at 15$CAD/year? (around 10-12 USD/year)

This will give you reliable NS across USA or Canada.

Guess you are going to have to pay yearly, as has been already said above.

Then take a look at HostUS famous 768MB offer for $10/y in US or $15/y in UK. Bitcoin is accepted.

@Hassan offer $12/y 2TB box in US too.

He looks for 2TB minimum, David.

Totally agree, they have awesome tiny boxes, it's too bad an amount of traffic is fairly low.

Hello, I haven't managed to find neither $1/month nor $12/year VPS plan at your site, not to speak of $1/month 2TB one, that has been exactly requested by OP, give us a clue where it can be find, please.

This cluster is going to be part of shared hosting, so many zones will be hosted.

Bump! I need more offers, the email I sent to IntenseVPS hasn't been replied to yet, and I am considering HostUS and Hostodo (looking at reviews).

EDIT: The Hostodo plan is actually $25/year or $3/month, so..

    How about

    512 MB RAM
    20 GB Pure SSD Storage
    2 TB Bandwidth
    1 vCpu Core
    1 Gbps Uplink

    for $6.00 USD /monthly ?

$6 is way too far out of my budget..max would be $3/month.

No, that's just too little for too much.

LES servers in multiple locations. Japan aside, there's plenty of bandwidth(100GB-~500GB)

    never mind.

Wait, you can run DNS servers behind NAT?

    Thanked by 1GM2015
  • No, I guess I should know better.

But les is still fine for many purposes.

    I crossed my comment.

He could possibly do it if he could nat port 53 on the host node. Not on les though probably.

LES is very useful, I used to have one to host my personal site.
I really wish you could run DNS servers on NAT though...

  • Yeah les is great.

Wait, I got more can of beer to talk to.

I don't know. In these caves of the UK, we peasants just call it beer.

I has more work to do.

    Ah yes, I forgot.

    Dolor sit amet.

  • Try virmach, they should be able to increase the monthly bandwidth to 2TB with some extra dollars.

Go with HostUS, my cPanel DNS-Only has been running fine there for over a year.

Are you sure? The coupone is still available and final price is $12/yr as far as I can see.

  • I saw these http://megavz.com/ and http://nanovz.com/index.html cheap but don't know if it is suitable.

OP needs 2TB+ mate, moreover that's NAT IPv4

My apologies, the $12/year price shows up at the checkout screen not the product config screen.
