SSD VPS Trial / Test

I have been considering entering the SSD VPS market for a little while. Decided to get my feet wet and do a limited trial run to work out the kinks. I have a couple of the following:
E3
2 Cores
1Gb RAM
5Gb SSD
1Gbps
Requirements for recieving one are this:
Active LET member
Willing to test and post results / find problems
Will pm the details
Comments
I'd be interested in testing it.
Im happy to do some testing of these if you link. If you decide to let me use, just let me know what kinds of benchmarks I can and cannot do.
What are specs of the nodes? I can give you a comparison against our E5 SSD nodes

@SharedHost @shovenose
All benchmarks are allowed. I want to stress test and what is broken.
Please post all benchmarks either publically or pm me them.
Ordered one, will check it out
But, honestly..
When offering a server with 1GBPS and 1GB RAM, 5GB SSD storage could be too less.
This is definetly not one of the lower end boxes (as long as they are not oversold..) and when I use a VPS with more power, then I'd probably need more storage than 5GB.
However, of course this is just my opinion, I guess the 5GB might also be sufficient for a lot of people.
Thanks, signed up
@Shigawire - If I do sell it as a product it may have more storage. I just figured for a benchmarking and stress testing trial it didn't need much storage
@Fliphost
ordered
@Fliphost: Sure, didn't think about that.
Holy crap the SSD is fast:
262144+0 records in
262144+0 records out
2147483648 bytes (2.1 GB) copied, 2.2059 s, 974 MB/s
IO is good. Will run some more benchmarks a little later
How many disks?
Go try
dd if=/dev/zero of=test bs=64k count=16k conv=fdatasync; unlink test
@SharedHost 2 SSD in HW Raid 1 ATM . May add more if I end up needing more storage.
[root@myserv ~]# dd if=/dev/zero of=test bs=64k count=16k conv=fdatasync; unlink test
16384+0 records in
16384+0 records out
1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB) copied, 1.27066 s, 845 MB/s
From what our research suggests, people are looking for 20-25gb of storage per gb of RAM on SSD plans
@ShardHost And how much of that is really used?
What people want and what they use never match up
@SharedHost Yea I thought so
Why RAID1 when the market has become flooded with RAID10 providers?
@Nick_A Just a trial, everything is still open for change
Sounds like StormVZ.
Thanks, feel free to post another unprofessional comment.
You are a very defensive person without cause here. He's offering trials on a RAID1 SSD server. You did exactly that. It seemed odd when you did it and it seems odd when he's doing it now.
If you want to talk about unprofessional, let's review your posts where you jump into threads recommending yourself when the OP either knows what providers they want or is looking for something else.
Please feel free to PM/post the exact posts
Nah, how about this: we'll see how long you can go without doing it again
Great! Just made yourself look like a fool, if your going to say I go invade threads and unable to back it up then don't bother bashing another provider.
I'd appreciate if you could take this to PM
@Nick_A @Patrick
@Fliphost
Just running benchmarks now, was there anything you were particularly interested in?
@Patrick @Nick_A
Poor show
I got a Fliphost account already I think (for some affiliate stuff), feel free to chuck one my way for a few tests (just look for serverbear.com in the signup email).
^_^
@serverbear sent one your way
@SharedHost Curious overall. Mainly I/O I'd say
