Hey guys,

I need a VPS for my SolusVM master. 256MB+ RAM would be ideal.
What can you offer/recommend?

Regards,
Dominic

Doesn't matter too much on location at all.

We've just moved all of our corporate sites to EuroVPS

@GetKVM_Ash is winning so far. I need some other offers :P

  • :)

I would have pointed you to our 2.5GB offer but SolusVM masters don't need anywhere near that much.

Yeah, they barely need 256MB. I think my last one used 120-150MB so they definitely don't need much! :)

  • Take a look at our 256 or 512MB KVM Plans, they're $4 and $7 respectively.

  • Depends. Try allocating a few thousand v6 addresses and see how 'little' it uses. ;)

I'd go with 512 in the very least, my own one seems to idle at 494.31MB at this very moment.

Unfortunately (for everyone else) @GetKVM_Ash won

I think I've been with GetKVM when it first started and wasn't using WHMCS :) But yeah, I'll be staying :P

How are you handling templates/ISO with 15gb storage?

  • @ShardHost said: How are you handling templates/ISO with 15gb storage?

Well.. We have all the OVZ template collection (32/64Bit), 15 KVM ISO files and 6 KVM templates on ours.

9.15 GB of 14.76 GB Used / 4.86 GB Free

    +1

  • The master doesn't need to have the files anyway... If the slave's have em it's fine.

On the master, just touch template-file-name.gz and you're done :)

Until you want to media sync :P

Or you can just SCP your files to your new servers.

Setup a cron to run every X to update template :P

    All is possible.

Or you can just use 10GB of data for a easy life..

  • Just wondering: if you have need for a VPS for Solus master, doesn't this mean you're selling VPSes? Don't you have the capability to self-host your Solus installation with your own VPS offerings? I'd get a bit freaked out about losing all of my customer data if another host had a problem and you didn't have a backup.

Yes, of course. You've probably seen my last 2 offers.

@Damian said: Don't you have the capability to self-host your Solus installation with your own VPS offerings?

Yes, but I want it on a different network.

The solus databae can auto back-up i believe.

@Jack said: @dominicl if you for whatever reason you don't want to carry on using Ash I can throw you a VM on my Singlehop box It's got a bit overkill just for my site and solus.

Okie, will let you know if I have any problems although doubt I will :) Singlehop dedi for your site and solus wow..lol..expensive too.

A nice way to poach customers :)

@Jack said: Na I was gonna give it him for free. I have spare IPs and way to much disk/ram.

:P Could have been a bit quicker, lol.

Exactly my point. "Hey instead of paying, why dont i just give you this for free even though i know you have already purchased"
