High RAM server uses?
I just bough a few ~2GB RAM servers and I don't really have anything to do with them right now. I don't like the feeling that the server is doing nothing so can anyone recommend things to run on it that would use it to it's full capabilities?
Thanks guys.

Assuming this is a thread about what to run on your VPS (that has a capacity of 2GB RAM), here is the following posts to get some ideas:

and so on.
Anyways here's what I use some of mine for (I also have my dedicated servers broken up into VPS containers so I don't waste other provider's I/O and etc.:
Edit: Forgot one.
Ahh I see. I though they were all duplicates -.-
Minecraft will chew up the RAM in no time.
I don't really play Minecraft though
. I guess I might lend it out to people who do in the meantime.
One of my main issues with lending it out to people is that if you don't trust/know that individual(s) then if they do anything malicious with those servers you could be held legally responsible for them (to my knowledge atleast)
That isn't the best idea as if they violate any policy's it could ruin your reputation with the host and possibly cause service termination without refunds. Just make sure you give it to someone you really trust.
I have a good use for them: send the root password to some sir called @BronzeByte, he seems to be very nice and he won't disappoint you from what I've heard!
Why would you purchase a 2GB vps if you do not have any use for it?
Yeah, this. If it's any cheaper to you, switch to one with lower specs.
@BronzeByte
Nice self plug there. I would probably have to put some wrapper around the server so they don't have full access to it.
@Alex_LiquidHost I got it on special, with a deal I just couldn't refuse.
Install cPanel and go into the shared web hosting business.
Some folks may laugh. If you're not a socially awkward basement dweller, know how to sell yourself and know some people in your community, you can start selling yearly web space to small businesses. I got some non-profits paying me $100/year for email/web and they would pay that over whatever "unlimited" provider because they know they can contact me and I will show up since I'm a local.
Serverdragon has an interesting graph on what you can run on x amount of RAM: http://serverdragon.com/vpsusage.php
run anything java
Normally big websites use more memory.
There is nothing wrong with having some unused memory on your server.
Start streaming with subsonic.
But there is something wrong with having an unused server
There's nothing wrong with someone trying to get the most out of their server.
+1
Yes, run Java applications (MC servers eat a lot) but you can also run other game servers.
2 GB VPS are actually good for hosting.
Ahh still no real options... Is there some way I can put my server to community use like adding it to a mirror network for CentOS or something?
You could create a mirror server, not only for OSs but also for scripts and apps. But I doubt this would use even 1GB RAM.
There's always @joepie91's storage grid.
