ubuntu 14.04 + hitleap linux beta version

Hello,

Today i was installing to one of our client "hitleap linux beta version" to an OpenVZ VPS, so first think is that this linux version hitleap with GUI requires ~1.5 GB of memory and 64 bit OS.

So if youll buy VPS from https://www.vpsnet.lt/en/services/vps - hitleap for 1 month will cost ~3,2 EUR.

Lets begin,

you need to order an VPS with 1.5GB of memory (RAM) and with Ubuntu-14.04 (64 bit) Operating system.

When you have VPS server you must login to it with Putty program and install GUI (it`s really easy)

apt-get update apt-get upgrade apt-get install xorg xrdp lxde firefox

Firefox is not required, but it will use only disk space so it can be installed for reason may be it will be useful in future.

After GUI installation you can login to your VPS via "Windows Remote Desktop Connection" entering these login details:

  • Computer: VPS ip
  • Username: root
  • Password: (Password of your VPS server)

Now we need to download hitleap linux version, unpack it and run.

Download it:

wget http://download1191.mediafire.com/65r46qjhc3jg/bxnka64w16ubk4r/HitLeap+Viewer.tar.xz

Extract it:

tar xf HitLeap+Viewer.tar.xz

And run it:

To do that you must enter command from terminal opened in GUI. (If you dont want to type this command with keyboard from this forum - you can allways find that command by entering " cat HitLeap-Viewer.desktop " - command will be after Exec=)

And command is:

sh -c '"$(dirname "$*")"/app/HitLeap-Viewer' dummy %k

Do not keep opened Remote Desktop window, because it uses ~100-300MB of memory (RAM)

Do not use 32 bit OS, they do not explain that it requires 64 bit OS
