(Help) Could not chdir to home directory /home/username: Permission denied

Hello,
Im newbie in linux vps. today i've install vps & wordpress using vpssim with newuser and there are any function to change port ssh. everything is ok. i close putty and open using new port i got error " Could not chdir to home directory /home/username: Permission denied
-bash: /home/username/.bash_profile: Permission denied
-bash-4.1$ " Please help :) i hope i have solution without reinstall . thanks

  • Most likely you locked your user out of its home directory. Is there any console interface you can use to enter the server using root?

    Login as root and do: chown -R username:username /home/username
