VPS CPU benchmark
Does anyone know of a simple CPU benchmark that has comparative output?
As in, you run it, and it says something like "Your CPU performs like a x.xxGhx single core processor", or something like that.
(Either that, or outputs a number than can be looked up in a chart to get the same information)
I was going to write one, but figured that must have been written 1000 times over by others already.

Nah but geekbench is good
You can't compare processors based on clock speed alone unless they are basically the same CPU other than clock speed.

The 2.26GHz Core 2 Duo (with 1 core disabled for the test) benchmarks better than the 3.06GHz Pentium 4 even with more stuff running at the time of the test.
We have a thread about geekbench if you're interested:

Thanks gents, I appreciate it!
Putting it into "comparative" terms is just a lot nicer than "This CPU scores 8.93" and having to compare it to a chart of other CPUs and their scores. Doing lookups and calculations are what computers are good at after all.
Something like:
"This processor performs the same as a 0.74Ghz single core on an Intel I7"
or
"This processor performs like a 0.89Ghz Pentium 4"
or
"This processor performs like 1.27Ghz single core AMD Phenom"
or something similar.
Preferably a processor that's pretty common, as something like:
"This processor performs like a 37.13Ghz Hitachi H8086"
would probably not make a lot of sense to most people lol.
An Hitachi running at 37Ghz? That must be insanely HOT xD
Geekbench is great for this
Tried it on my VPS, got a score of 2237.
Found this link:
http://www.primatelabs.ca/geekbench/pc-benchmarks/
for comparison. Looks like my VPS is about as good as an Intel Core2 duo E4400 running at 2.0Ghz.
Or putting it in old single core terms, that's about like an Intel P4 running at a theoretical 4.92Ghz. That's not bad for a $12 a month VPS!
I always use this benchmark list for mobile processors (like when I buy a laptop)-

if there is a server version of the chart that might be what the OP is looking for
So, then for all the CPUs (not totally accurate IMHO);
