    No.

  • To me the interesting point with raspberry pi and the like is the ability to run a little server at home. I don't really see the point in hosting something like that in a DC.

But it the offer lasts a long time, that's probably well worth it...

I have one there for two years already and is still going strong!

Nice! Using a USB stick for the storage?

Many thanks @Nyr for the first valuable comment. And is it really free at all for whole the time?

It's free. I even had them replace my SD card twice until I finally decided to set the file system to read-only (to avoid damage). It is very reliable but best suited for stable setup. May be if you have another raspberry pi at home to test on whatever you are trying to do, then just deploy what works.

  • Why are they doing this for free?

Or are you paying regular costs for bandwidth and such?

Yes, I just paid the shipping from my country.

We should create a list of Raspberry Pi colocation providers, if interest exists. I'm still looking for one more RPi colo provider (Already have RPIs in Zurich, Frankfurt, Amsterdam)

    +1

EDIT: @MSP_Nick (if I got his nick right?) was offering RPI colo in London as I recall. I don't remember any US or Asian offers ever coming to light...?

I've got Raspberry Pis with Edis (AT), FSData (SE), Mivitec (DE) and PcExtreme (NL) but none of them currently provide free colocation anymore.
All working fine and at no cost so far except for hardware and shipping.
Frankfurt and Zurich sound interesting, any links @patrick7 ?

No, unfortunately not. I have Rackspace (>1U) in both sites Zurich/Frankfurt, the providers don't offer just Raspberry Pi Housing.

  • For 5 CHF/month it seems like you can get Lausanne instead of Zurich:

    1GB traffic? ;-)

Maybe @rauppe31 can do something in Zug (about 20km from Zurich)

  • Missed that, but that's more than enough :)

Got a Raspberry in Germany, but wouldn't mind another location as well if the price is right.
