SSH over EDGE?
Hi. I was testing today with my Nokia 2330 as modem to establish a SSH session to my VPS. But I get an error from putty telling me that the server closed the connection.
Is my wireless ISP blocking anything not stantard or it is very slow and the link drops?

have you enable compression ?
The Nokia Suite don't allow to set compression on/off. It only ask apn, user, passwd, and a custom command.
Considered MOSH?

were you as far as being asked about accepting the key ? If not, then it can be a connection problem, if yes and failed afterwards, then it may be a setting incompatibility.
Windows 7?
No, I have the key cached. It never ask for login.
@juandm compression setting is within putty: http://www.fmrib.ox.ac.uk/support/computing/images/miscellaneous-applications/PuttyEnableCompression.png/view
@craigb compression is of on the profile.
@juandm turn it on
I can connect to my VPS directly on an Android/iOS phone over EDGE, sometimes the connection got lost because of extremely high latency. Try traceroute your VPS to see if the connection is stable.
I can do it fine over edge/3g too. Sounds like your provider is way too unstable to be of any use.
if I can do a VPN over edge you can do SSH over edge, just a matter of latency/compression.
Yes the problems is the provider and the extreme network overselling.
