Problem with WHMCS & Windows Servers

So I finally received my SLA and ive been working a couple of days on implementing windows servers and such. Everything is setup I am having some problems with getting the network to work in the Windows Servers. The network is fine using Linux templates with no problem.

The ongoing problem is the network in the windows servers. I wouldnt be asking for help but I exausted all other options even tried a days worth of troubleshooting myself. Here are some of the things I have tried already.

Im pretty sure I have the network configuration correct but something is not connecting correctly I just cant seem to get to the bottom of it.

Thanks in advance for all the help.

  • Your default gateway is invalid. Pending where you set it or with most logical /24s it is probably on .1 or .254.

  • Did you double check the gateways?

Usually if the IP is .78 the gateway would be .1 as the network is the .0 IP.

See I thought the same thing but its OVH network so the gateway will end in .254 as stated in OVH network guide.

  • Oh its OVH, maybe ask them? OVH is weird even with their OS templates.

Yes I asked them the response was they do not support third party software, which I expected that Ive been having this same cloud infrastructure with them over the past year so I kinda knew what to expect. So they cant really help me with the problem so they say. So I have to fix it up myself I mean it looks like I have everything set up perfectly.

The funny thing is the VPS that the windows template is on, is online but the network on the VPS is not working.

  • Make sure you have set the Mac addressee on the IP part of their manager

Yes I set the mac address in my cloud manager on OVH and also whenever I built the KVM server I applied that mac address to the build.

  • Hmm. Let me get out of bed and have a look at how I've got it set up. I remember I spent a while stuck on the same problem. I'm assuming your using proxmox?

No using SolusVM as of now.

  • I think you should stop offering services if you dont know how to add an ip inyiur server.

Anyways back to the actual help! I obviously added and configured everything I needed and its still not working which is why I am asking for help. If you dont have anything to say that offers help then feel free to exclude yourself from this conversation.

    Thank you.

  • Yes am here to help you and the potential "clients" to exclude pains in the future.
Regarding to your first issue i will say:

    1. you forgot to save iptables.

    2. you forgot to restart the server.

I saved the iptables and restarted the server no change in the problem.

Just uncheck "Configure networking automatically" in SolusVM for that template/iso and it should do the trick.

You may also read my following tutorials:

If you still face issues after doing as described just contact me & I will help you.
