Attacks displayed on the map are gathered from Norse’s network of more than eight million attack sensors (honeypots) deployed in more than 50 countries around the globe.
Norse sensors mimic favorite targets of attackers, such as ATM machines, medical devices, point-of-sale systems, PCs, Macs, and Exchange servers.
Only about 1 in every 1000 “hits” on the Norse network is displayed on this public-facing map in order to simplify the visualization.
