Seattle/Portland Dedicated Servers
Looking for boxes in the pacific north west. I have a couple colo'd but looking for rental options in the Low End range (<$50/m).
Open on most specs, just want to see what's available. But ideally: Gigabit (5TB+), 2 Drives, IPv6 is a plus but not required (good connection to HE's Seattle tunnelbroker pop will do).
One of the providers I was with recently moved their Seattle operation to LA, want to see if there are any other options or if I need to stay a bit further south.

As I just mentioned in your other post, if there is demand we can deliver low cost servers in Seattle, Portland. We also have Vancouver but low cost may not be the right word there.
Portland may not be that cheap as we have very limited space (old caged area - 10-15 racks) from an acquisition. But if there is a business case then its possible.
@MarkTurner +1 vote for Seattle.
@MarkTurner Where do we sign up for the kickstarter? I'll get in the pre-order queue.
@mikeyur - Monday I will get this sorted out for you. I'll update this thread. Lets see if we can get enough preorders to do it. The space/network is there, so shipping some servers from LA should be an easy solution.
@MarkTurner Can i know speed network port Server Dual E5420, 500GB Disk, 8GB RAM, 5TB Transfer
@yhuza That's gigabit in Atlanta, awesome network
oh yes, i saw now, thank you
Seattle would probably cost 2x that at minimum. The screaming deals are only in Atlanta.
Id be intrested as well since im located in vancouver.
I think there are a few more of us Vancouverites on LET. Need to get a group buy situation going, see what kind of volume deals @MarkTurner could do
+1 from Vancouver. Not sure if I need a dedi though, but sure like to see some deals in Seattle.
Everyone needs a dedi.. or 14
I'm looking at another delimiter deal, but if Mark can get us something in Seattle then I'd be willing to double up there.
Seattle should be workable if there is sufficient volume. I checked inventory there and there are two racks of unused blades (128 units). These could be quite easily replaced/quickly with other systems.
@MarkTurner if you can float an idea of the spec & pricing then that would give folks a better idea if they're interested. If not hit me up via PM and maybe we can talk colo or renting a couple boxes with a longer commit?
Are you interested in renting out those blades? If so, what are the specs and price? I live in the Seattle area and would love a server closer than Atlanta.
We can do the following in Seattle (Incero DC)
E3-1270v2
16GB RAM
2x500GB HDD
100mbit unmetered
/29 IPv4
$49/m
Send me a PM if you're interested.
These are much larger systems Dual E5, 128GB RAM, 10GE ports, Dual SSD. Not LET pricing by any stretch.
Colo won't work in Seattle, it will be way too expensive. Each rack has Dual 208v/30A/3 phase for the blade servers. It puts the cost per U through the roof.
Tomorrow I should know whats possible in terms of pricing. I think entry level will be L5520/L5630 though as there is not enough revenue per blade slot to make it work.
I am definitely interested in an L5520 in Seattle, I can't wait to hear pricing.
I'd also be interested in some L5520/L5630 in Seattle
try stealthy hosting ?
Stealthy only offers 100mbit it seems
From the last offers I saw their prices were a tad high, but will take another look
Actually it seems they have added 1000mbit since last I checked, but there servers are definitely not low end talk price friendly.
Any updates?
Nothing yet. Paging @MarkTurner
I'm trying to find a solution to get low cost servers in there.
Right, we could do some relatively high spec servers for around $100/month. I am still working on how we could offer some L5520 units.

What are they going for? PM me if needed.
