need your unused VPS for a day

We are trying to build a new open source Queueing & job delegation server in Erlang/OTP.
but it is not tested in many systems. we require it to be tested in as many environments as possible.
so, if you have an unused VPS, it would be really helpful if you could give access to it for a day.
we will run our binaries and make sure that your platform/distro is supported.
The more variety we have, the more environments we will be able to support.

what will we do with your VPS?

  • Install the Etzel Server.
  • Make sure all functions are running smoothly
  • Then uninstall it, delete our files & notify you.

Requirements:

  • we need a minimum of 128mb of free RAM
  • SSH access to execute the binary

Project Details:

URL: etzelserver.com
Status: Released an Alpha version with support for PHP & nodeJS

PS: you may PM me the details.

Thank you :)

  • Thank you @Hidden_Refuge
@William a dedicated IP is not required.

    Hi evnix,
We can support you with a VPS with 1GB RAM and 20 GB SSD for one week.
You can choose from Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora and CentOS.

    Best regards,
    Sebastian from www.onvirt.io

  • Thanks for the help everyone. :)

  • Well..since you weren't too active here yet - who says you won't spam with it?

  • Anything important enough to warrant a VPS for a day to test something is worthy of dropping $2-$5 for a month service for a simple 256MB VPS somewhere.

  • Alternatively use Vultr's $50 free credit promo. That's enough to power up few hundreds VPS for 24 hours.

No one, it's called good faith.

  • try synnefo.org - free ipv6 vps for 3 hours in Greece.
~20 images, up to 8Gb ram, 8 vCPU, 100GB hdd, 5 VMs at the same time.

  • Running a promotion until the end, today you may grab one is 1 month free so should be enough if using for one day :)

How is it going? Any results? Need anything to be fixed/added or so?

Did you already check if the IP has been blacklisted? Maybe you can see a "result" there. /s

  • nexusrain said: Did you already check if the IP has been blacklisted?

Well, it still has the old shiny Squid proxy blacklist from 2 or 3 years ago. That is one I cannot remove as the blacklist is some bs that wants company details and etc. I mean it needs a full sign up with all kind of details just to request a removal request.

    So nothing new.

we tested it & it worked perfectly :)
everyone who helped us out, do send your name or logo, we will add it to the contributors page.
Thanks everyone, It helped us a lot. we were able to fix a lot of compatibility issues.

Great. If you need the VM longer tell me. Otherwise I'll just terminate it in 48 hours.

Why don't you test in a virtual machine locally or setup openvz and grab many pre-made images? Would be fast and in house.

  • @scy we had done that already. But you never know the compatibility issues unless you test it on a live VPS and we found quite a few.

  • Different machines equals multiple HD, RAM, motherboard, networking, base node operating systems and visualization layer differences.

You'd need a hell of a lot of computers running sandboxes to test even a small part of the possible combinations.

I can let you use the smallest vultr/linode/digitalocean for a day or two, if you haven't tested on those.

     uptime
     09:35:05 up 4 days, 19:28, 1 user, load average: 0.47, 0.82, 1.09

    eth0 TX: (664.4 GiB)
    venet0 RX: (5.2 TiB)

This is from the dedi (yes short uptime because it's a dev dedi). RX on eth0 is just 1.2 GiB and TX on venet0 is also 1.2 GiB

Just to be sure I terminated the VPS as I am not getting a response from OP to my previous post here.
