Cheap Yearly VPS

edited July 2015 in Requests
128MB RAM
5GB SSD (or SSD cached HDD)
500GB of bw
1 IPv4 + 1IPv6
Any location
XEN or KVM (OpenVZ in the last case)

Can a reliable provider offer this configuration or similar for around 5-7USD/year? Yes, I know that this is a low budget but we are struggling with a very high dolar to brazilian real conversion rate (1USD = 3.174BRL / 1BRL = 0.315USD) these days, you can blame President's Dilma terrible economic policy.

Please provide test IP or looking glass and some benchs if possible.

I'm open to new configurations or prices.

Thank you all.

    That's nothing. 1USD = 132.59 LKR.

BTW, if IPv4 isn't a must. I suggest you to look at the LEB list.

Also what is the intended usage of this VPS. TBH, 128 is OK to run a small website. But I think you'll find more cheaper shared hosting if you just need to host a website.

Yes, IPv4 is a must. And, yes again: I will host a small website on this VPS. I prefer to use a VPS than a shared hosting as I hold more control of certain things and use what software configuration I want to use.

    But thank you anyways.

  • If you can increase your budget to $15/yr You can go with BuyVM.

  • Ah, and try this website : http://lowendstock.com/

You can filter number of IP's at the bottom of the page.

    Hi,

You may want to take a look at https://www.moosevz.com if you can't find any KVM/XEN.

If you've got a bit of patience, wait until BandwagonHost restocks and grab one of their yearly deals. They're listed at lowendstock.com

  • u can also try moosevz they have other location than Atlanta, Georgia

But i don't have exp with them but Deepnet solutions plans will have same quality

  • bersybersy Member

Take a look at http://www.budgetvz.com/ OpenVZ plans too.

As for requested KVM/Xen specs, you won't find anything reliable with that budget.

  • bandwagonhost do a $4/yr VPS I think. can't see you getting KVM/XEN for that though.

If you can, it's definitely worth stretching to $13.50 and getting a Ramnode box. Or hostus $10/yr box even

If you run it on a custom ISO on Vultr, $5*12=$60 per year, but the first 2 months are free (up to $50) https://www.vultr.com/freetrial/

As per my personal experience, It is more advisable that don't think about cheap prices and look for reputable provider.

There are so many cheap and reliable providers here on LET that what you said make little to no sense. And, 1and1 is only a choice to cheap domain registering for further transfer.

    But thank you anyway.

I've not stated whether I am a genius or not. I am purely saying go daddy is pure and utter shit. We all know it, I've worked as a freelancer ive done many migrations from godaddy and its IO or pure shit.

If you got any facts to show godaddy is the best in the world we would love to see them. Otherwise leave this one
