Looking for a dedicated server
Hey all,
I'm looking for a dedicated server for personal use. Since I purchase a lot of VPS that do nothing, I thought about just paying for one dedicated server that's fast, secure, stable and reliable. I want it somewhere near the UK or with good latency to the UK. (UK, USA, France, Germany, Netherlands or around there)
My budget isn't big, around $50. Preferred specs: Intel Dual Core, 4-8GB RAM, Space isn't that important, something with 100GB or more, uplink 100mbps or more, should have a good network with good hardware. Recommend any hosts? the more the better, and not something too expensive.
Thanks.

I've heard about Kimsufi, yeah. I'm afraid the processor for the first plan might not be able to handle a lot. And I heard they use old boxes that are faulty? is that true?
Dual processor or dual core?
I don't know about old/faulty boxes, but a lot of us seem to be getting Atom N2800's on the lowest plan.
http://www.ace-host.net/dedicated-servers/ is pretty good. They have some budget boxes starting at $40 . Ram is a bit low on the budget ones, but you can probably ask them for an upgrade.
Their ram prices are pretty good on their E5's
Dual core, corrected.
Re Kimsufi: You could consider the KS R-8G which is a Sandy Bridge i3 and still within your price range.
@Ishaq Just a word of advice, even if you go dedicated for "fast, secure, stable and reliable" I'd still take a storage vps to make a backup
Good luck and hope you find a good deal
Hetzner's server bidding can be a good option I bagged a nice Intel 975 with 4 750GB drives, 12GB Ram and hardware raid for (quickly converts) $56.
Just got to keep a close eye on the better ones being dropped in amongst the real crap they put on there.
Kimsufi or datashack.net or
@MikeIn He wants something in EU so DS is out
One of Hetzners outlet servers?

@StormVZ I simply missed that part, and thanks
LOL
Just as a side note with Hetzner server bidding, there is no upgrade route at all with anything bought from there, what you buy is what your stuck with.

Multiple sub 40 € options available with sufficient HDD space and RAM.
We can offer a dual core atom with 2gb of ram for around $40/mo but we don't really have a lot of dedi infrastructure so reboots and such would have to go to support ticket.
Thanks everyone - and I would prefer Paypal as a payment option, I hate going through the bank for a server. Sadly hetzner don't do Paypal.
I have some dedicated servers with hetzner but they dont give many ips, just 3-4 or if you want a /29 block which is the max you can get or need to pay more money than the server itself.
But the hardware is cheap.
Thanks and Regards
and now you're thinking to buy a dedicated to do nothing ? :P
this time give them to me, atleast i'll try to do something
Datashack or Kimsufi or Serverstadium
Thanks everyone.

Nice job
@guyusoftware
ServerStadium only sells to resellers, so I don't think they would be the ideal choice for him.
You are right but if you go and email them, they will agree to sell even though you are not a reseller.
One of my friend did so.

@RobertJFClarke Like DannyAlex said that now they would accept your order even though you are not a reseller.
