Oops, I misunderstood. Which coupon code is it? Most of our coupons are not lifetime coupons so they don't apply to upgrades but some do so I'd have to look it up.

Nope sorry. We've decided to stop offering recurring promos and only offering 50% off the first month promos from now on (although there might be some coupons floating around that can be used if you look hard enough).

  • One of our most stable providers. Awesome sauce in there at SecureDragon!

Too much work to 'save' a few dollars. Was just curious. You could always do XX% off first invoice too, so it's not recurring but would work on monthly/quarterly/etc for the first term ;)

  • @KuJoe Any plans to do a non DDoS-protected node in Oregon? Think I saw you mention you were thinking about it before/had considered it, would be a great location for me. Denver is my favorite so far though.

We were looking into it but at this time we're focusing on replacing all of our non-SSD nodes so we don't have anything in our budget for expanding to any new locations right now.

Quick note: if you happen to be on vacation or away from your home address, don't bother trying to sign up for VPS' with Secure Dragon.

I had intended to sign up for 2x $25 a month VPS today and was blocked by their MaxMind fraud prevention during the checkout, which is fine. As with any other time this has happened with a VPS provider, I sent in a quick ticket in which I explained the situation (that I'm in Europe and not in Canada, where our company is based) yet instead of taking the 10 seconds to make a phone call or ask for references from any of the other dozen LET VPS providers we work with, the support rep stated that I wouldn't be able to provide SD with any business.

Suit yourself, it's $600 in annual revenue that I can provide to another VPS provider who's interested in new customers. I'm not going to tell you how to operate, but this is something that could have very easily been remedied and you could have a happy new client instead of one that is pretty confused at why you would leave money on the table with a poorly created policy.

(edited to fix my terrible grammar)

@gravytrain thank you for repeating our KB article here. :)

We understand that a lot of clients travel and love taking the opportunity to buy services while on vacation or business, unfortunately people also love to take advantage of these excuses which results in the majority of abuse so we cannot accept orders from VPNs, Proxies, or any orders where the address does not match the billing address or IP location.

I am truly sorry that you cannot utilize our services at this time but these policies we have in place are the main reasons why clients chose us. Clients don't like sharing a node with bad neighbors and the fact that we do not allow anybody with an internet connection to order services from us (regardless of how much money they want to pay us) is why our services are as good as they are.

Additionally you either forgot or chose not to mention the volume of IP addresses you wished to purchase which was a factor in my decision. IP and address not matching + large amount of IPs = red flags.
