What level of management is included, install of a LAMP stack and setup of security or fully managed?

Their website states "Just open a ticket and we will do anything on your VPS for you." .
So this seems like some kind of "on demand managed"?

@arminds What about the network interface? Shared G port,100Mps or 10Mps?

Fully managed included but not limited to:
Security audits, Performance tuning, troubleshooting boot issues, solving network related issues, package installation "yum, RPM", troubleshooting websites errors related to VPS configuration not the code itself" and so on.

We mean that we are only a ticket away :) If you have any issues we will help unlike unmanaged service provider who just provide the service and leave you with your issues.

Currently we are considering moving from shared 100m port to 1G port. However, we will have to limit the VPS bandwidth usage instead of un-metered if we go with 1G. That will be considered based on our poll results above.

  • RAID 5, lol.

I don't see how you can afford to fully manage a VPS for that cost, that's essentially free.

    RAID 5... the awkward brother.

Is this OVH based? 90% of the time when I see RAID 5, I guess that it's OVH since until recently OVH deployed with 3 drives, so RAID 5 was a common set up there.

We manage to do that :)

May I know your concerns regarding RAID5?

No, not OVH. We own our servers and colocate them in different data centers.

  • Why not go for another drive and have RAID 10 so you have both read and write speed advantage?

    Thanked by 1arminds
  • Why not RAID6?

    1. Recovery - http://www.cyberciti.biz/tips/raid5-vs-raid-10-safety-performance.html
    2. Database Performance - http://www.dell.com/downloads/global/solutions/tradeoffs_RAID5_RAID10.pdf
    3. I'd say easier readability in a failure if you can collect 1 set of drives.
    4. General Performance - http://wintelguy.com/raidperf.pl

    RAID5 has better write performance.
