'encryption ban' idea in the uk, impact on VPSs

regardless of the likelyhood of that ever happening and how they would police it, any thoughts of what impacts this will have on VPS one might have in the UK? (I have one for backup using client-side encryption)

    Wow you read old news sites lol, but there is no chance of this happening after all the bad publicity when he originally proposed it.

    EDIT: Didn't read the full thing first time, but still a slim chance of it actually happening.
