Dedicated US server for game hosting

Looking for a Dedicated plan, need at least 8gb ram, prefer 16, 4 cores at least, newer tech perferred vs x5150 or whatever, Windows capable (Can provide own License), Preferred unmetered 100Mbit, but would consider gigabit / 10 Tbyte monthly if overages were reasonable. Disk space not overly important, must be enough to host the windows installation plus a few games - probably 100 -150GB. Prefer SSD but not required. Must be US based, prefer Chicago. Looking to get 20/30 per month. Would pay for up to a year in advance to get this pricing. Anyone? Thanks in advance!

    Hello,

VaporNode can offer the following out of our Chicago, IL datacenter.

    • CPU: Dual Intel Xeon L5420

    • RAM: 16GB DDR2 ECC

    • Storage: 500GB HDD

    • Network: 10TB bandwidth @ 1Gbps

    • IP Addresses: 4 IPv4, IPv6 on request

    • Price: $40/month

Unfortunately we can't go any cheaper, but we are one of the cheapest dedicated server providers in the Chicago market. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know!

  • I am aware of the Delimiter deal, however the X5150 processors, frankly, suck. The L5420 isn't much better.

Fizzyjoe908, I am only in need of ONE IP address. Can we arrange a lower price if I only need one IP? Let me know. Thanks. Still looking for the right fit.

You can't go wrong with Dacentec's deals (aff link).

    How about this then:

    HP Blade Server - 2 x Quad L5520 Xeon (8 Cores, 16 Threads)

    8GB RAM

    500GB Disk

    1 IPv4

    Gigabit port

Dedicated KVM (HP Lights Out) with full graphical KVM, virtual media

Dedicated Power control (power on/off/reset as required)

    5TB Bandwidth

OS: Centos, Ubuntu, Scientific Linux, Fedora, Debian, FreeBSD, Windows (BYOL), etc

    Unmanaged

$29/month paid monthly, use coupon AGUC873LKC

Pay annually and get DOUBLE DISK or DOUBLE RAM or DOUBLE BANDWIDTH (you choose) with coupon 2UBYIH3JA4

You can also get it with 120GB SSD same price.

IMHO, for that price you won't get much better than these offers.

And to be more honest, as you said, L5420, x5150, L5520 are on the same league for single threaded performances which is what you need I guess.

Probably you should increase your budget to 40-50 to get something better.

Maybe not USA, but what about ovh soyoustart? If you get stock at their Canada location, the E3 offers will suit you.

And as someone said, at Dacentec in USA, (going a little bit more $$$), you can catch stock of some E3 servers at a great price.

Ended up going with Joe's Datacenter, dual l5630's, 24gb ddr3 ECC ram, 20TB bandwidth on gigabit, 500gb hard drive, 5 IPs, 49 bucks / month. More than I wanted to spend, but good hardware.

MarkTurner: That offer is REALLY good, especially with the SSD option. Very tempted to try it out. Can I sign up for a month with the first coupon code, try it, and then switch to annual for the extra ram? Let me know.

Of course you can. That server type has live stock so you can order it and get it by return.

Nice choice! Are you tunneling to the Dedi or does Joe have DDOS protection?
