Strange Owncloud 8 (on CentOS 7) issue after moving to new server.

myhkenmyhken Member

I changed my main server and in the process I had to change IP on my HyperV based Owncloud 8.x server on CentOS 7.
After the move, and it's months since now, the Owncloud client has no issues at all connection to my server, uploading and downloading is fast, and I have several users and all is OK.

But, if I try to type inn my https://owncloud address in any web browsers, it take for ever to get the login page. Around 5-10-15 minutes.
No issue pinging the server, the trace route seems ok (and as I told you, the client has no connections issues at all).

If I try to login via a web browser directly on my Windows main server hosting the HyperV owncloud server, I get access straight away.
But if I try from two of my other Hetzner servers, one in the same DC, the same issue happens, it takes for ever to login.

What setup file have I missed, moving the server? I'm sure it has something to do with the IP change, but I don't know where to find it. I have also upgraded owncloud to the newest three times since the move, and that has not solved the issue.

Help!

  • trusted_domain in the config file needs changing?

I used the same domain, just changed IP in A records

  • From the server where Owncloud is running, ping the URL you are accessing. Does it resolve correctly?

Also on the client are you accessing with IP or FQDN? As on the web server are you accessing with the same IP/FQDN.

    Yes, the correct IP.

Same when I ping from any other server or home computer etc.

Using https://myowncloud.com - both in client, and when I try to access to login page both on all other computers and on the main computer hosting the server.

I have looked at the config file now, and allowed_domain was correct setup.

Also the SSL settings is correct. /etc/httpd/conf.d/ssl.conf and the file /etc/httpd/conf.d/owncloud.conf is correct.

It's very strange that the domain works 100% in the client software, but not in any browesers in any OS, in any location, beside the main server.

I use similiar setup OwnCloud 8 on CentOS 7, never have that problem for 30 user.

Maybe related to browser cache? https://myowncloud .com is real domain right? not non-existent domain?

I did never have any issue before I changed IP on the owncloud server. And yes, https://myowncloud.com (of course my is mine domain) is a real domain name, and I have changed the A records to the new IP on the owncloud server.

But can't understand why Owncloud client, connected to the same domain name works 100%, but no browsers does. About cache, I have tried on computers that never has had access to the owncloud server before, on different os, on VMs, on friends computers, etc etc, so it's not a cache issue.
