VPS hosts how do you handle monitoring?

vfusevfuse Member, Host Rep

I was wondering how VPS hosts handle monitoring and abuse. Do you manually login to your control panel to see what the status of the servers VPSs are or do you have something setup to monitor abuse on each node (for example send notification if VPS cpu usage is > 50% for x hours).

I'm currently working on process level notifications for NIXStats and was wondering how to handle that the best way.

Automated for the most part and then manual if automated doesn't catch it.

Automated part is custom option or? I've seen something like nodewatch is there anything else like that?
