I dont have experience with enterprise / server grade SSD, but for desktop Samsung is great brand, been using OCZ, Crucial, and Samsung.

Out of those two I would pick Samsung 850, but if you ask me what would I recommend, I would say Samsung 845 DC Pro. Only The new DC series was actually designed to be used in a server, 850 is still a desktop drive. Excellent drive, very reliable, but a desktop drive.

    Good luck!

Unfortunately I have very limited choices here.

Intel or Samsung datacenter editions in Iran is two or three times expensive than normal price.

So I have just 850 EVO and Pro in my options.

Got it. Samsungs are very reliable overall. They are good performers too. Many were using them in their servers before the DC edition came out. You should be ok with them. Good luck!

  • I have a Samsung 840 EVO for around 2.5 years now, been in a laptop and it's in my desktop now. Still going strong :)

    I would vote for either a Samsung 840 or a 850.

I've been considering options re SSDs. Daily work use? I mean, it's not the same 2-3 hours a day than 12-16h, or even 24/7.

Around 4-5 hours a day during weekdays and around 12-14 hours a day on weekend/holidays. SSD is being used to store heavy games + windows on it.

5.61TB Data has been written in total

The SSD currently has 5346 power on hours (222.75 days).
