Dedicated (or not) for private trackers torrenting
Hello everyone!
My request will certainly look like one of those impossible ones: I need at least 1TB space with unmetered bandwidth for the price of 7-8 € per month.
Now, I know that:
1) This is somehow a crazy request but crazy things happen everyday.
2) My budget is low, but If I have to use more than 100 € per year I'd prefer to buy a mini computer and let it seed here at home. If someone can pull off something like this then great, otherwise no one will die anyway
3)Torrenting is 90% of the time anime or ebooks. (no porn at all)
Well, thank you for your attention :-)

I agree, it's one of them.
Anyway good luck
Buy that mini computer mate, I can't see there's any chance of you getting 1TB for that price point. Your best bet would be a KS-2 at €9.99/month.
You're probably right. I'll probably end up buying a mini PC + 10 TB of drives. At least I have full control (and ownership) of my hardware and I can easily share everything around the house.
Let's wait anyway a couple of days :-)
Get two more like you and rent a Hetzner.
No way around the bush for that price range ^^
My word, how much anime do you need man?
That's what I did 16TB or storage for ~60 euro's per month / 12 people 5 euro's per month
Well, since I was speaking about "home" usage I would not be downloading just anime :-) But yeah, I like to keep what I share for a long time. Thanks for the funny question
If it's private torrents and you won't get abuse reports just do it from home, and set your torrent client to seed at night time.
You could also pick up a 500gb backup VPS for seeding freeleach stuff? I know someone had a script that started up a new vultr 10Gbps storage VPS for a few days whenever a new freeleach torrent came out on his tracker!
This is a good idea. How much do you think it would cost me a 500 GB VPS for free-leach material?
A KS-2 should work well for you. Even though it's not advertised, they were being deployed with 2TB drives for a while there. (rather than the 1TB it says on the website)
kimsufi. I run plex (subtitle encoding) + torrent, and I can't live w/o it.
see my sig, it will help you snatch one.
Wasn't aware about that, I should get one and hopefully with a 2TB HDD.
If you don't mind me asking, which KS are you doing that on? I've had serious issues with streaming soft-subbed anime via Plex on lower-end dedicated servers due to Plex's need to transcode it.
Are you going to host Legal stuff?
I will host anime and ebooks. I don't think providers receive a lot of DMCA notices for these things. Also I only use private trackers. I never download music, movies, games, etc.
I think it depends specifically on what you're torrenting. A lot of anime is unlicensed in many countries so I doubt the rights owners care much about what's going on outside of Japan, but some stuff will upset the local rights holders; I'm not sure if they still do so, but Bandai used to be quite aggressive about going after Gundam torrents, and I think Funmation are pretty hot on protecting their licensed properties.
Do you intend to torrent stuff available on streaming services like Crunchyroll?
I generally download new anime still on going in Japan (which sometimes are already licensed). However Bandai and Funmation are worried about the US market, correct? I live in Europe (Belgium), so I don't think those are a problem here. Right?
edit: wrong thread
Probably (certainly) you don't care, but I bought a Kimsufi KS-2A for 9.99€ per month. Hope to get the 2 TB version.
They were fast! First time with Kimsufi and I already got a server after 5 minutes (no convalidation of documents needed), and yes I got the 2TB!!
You'll be happy with it for that use. Glad to see they are still deploying them with 2TB drives
