Cheapest KVM for Learning Docker
Hi,
I'm looking for a KVM special offer to learn Docker.
Requirement:
RAM: 256MB
Disk: 5 G (HDD is fine)
BW: 50G (could be even less, I don't use much)
Location: prefer at west in the U.S., however anywhere but EU would be fine for me.
The budget is expected to be within $7/yr.
Would it be possible?
Thanks very much for any offer!

If you just want a test instance of docker to learn on, you're much better off with boot2docker or something along those lines. Especially if you're planning to play with clusters of servers and something like kubernetes/fleet/whatever, you can easily create a number of vagrants running docker or coreos on your own machine. If you limit yourself to an external VPS, you'll need to purchase multiple to test clustering.
I personally use coreos-vagrant on my laptop, and it works great for learning.
Thanks very much for the helpful comments. However, I'm likely to be in 3 different places with different computers everyday, and I prefer not taking the laptop wherever I go, so I think I have to rent a box which can be reached out everywhere:(
OVH's runabove brand gives you a 2G KVM VPS for $2.5/month.
It's really good for sandboxing and study.
use my link you will get $10 credit.
