Security Flaw leaks VPN Users Real IP's

Did not see this posted here yet. Anyone who uses a VPN or proxy may want to implement changes to their browser or network. Until I added the Google Chrome "WebRTC Block" extension, my browser was leaking my IP through a VPN connection.

VPN users are facing a massive security flaw as websites can easily see their home IP-addresses through WebRTC. The vulnerability is limited to supporting browsers such as Firefox and Chrome, and appears to affect Windows users only. Luckily the security hole is relatively easy to fix.

Comments

  • WebRTC Block installed, I checked it and WebRTC no longer works. Thanks a lot.

  • Does not work in FF LTS (Palemoon) and newest FF "leaks" my Hamachi IP. o.O

  • Shows my internal IP as "Local" and my proxy as external... if you use NAT at home this should not affect you at all - Thus most of the EU has no problem at all
