@Nick_A Congrats on the expansion. I'm really happy with Seattle and from the looking glass IP it seems Vancouver -> LA is about 130ms. lol. Gotta love my ISP's routes..
Looks good here. 8 hops from LA to Moreno Valley, 80 miles or so. 8ms ping overall. Good stuff... But I'm moving to Portland in a week and a half so I'll stick with Seattle for now. Great work @Nick_A ... I'll be grabbing another unit from you in the near future. Mine has only gone down once (security updates) since getting it a while back. Awesome quality, great service
Please open in singapore, i'll really happy
Tracert from indonesia
Why it's need to go to japan first?to much peer compared to xvmlabs
Please PM me your local IP
Done
Indonesia, to Singapore, to Japan to US is pretty much how the submarine cables run.
In some cases those hops might be hidden, but the traffic will still use the same path and have similar latency.
Have a look at http://www.cablemap.info/ for more information on submarine cables.
From my experience, Seattle is by far the best POP for us Western Canadians, even better than Vancouver in most cases. My latency from Vancouver to my SEA RN is usually about 11ms, not bad for DSL via WIFI.
I might have to spend my $5 RN credit on an LA box.. Gotta Catch Em' All, Ramñode...!
Congrats @Nick_A on launching new location.
Whee another LA location...
Nice, but oh lordy I'd love a RamNode Chicago POP.
Look's like LA is offline again.
Earlier when I pinged it I got 130ms.
I get 25 ms ping to Ramnodes NYC, 51ms to Atlanta, 76ms seattle,
Gonna stick with NY.
I live in Canada.
LA isn't offline, someone is just routinely attacking the looking glass IP. It's pretty standard practice whenever anyone gets attention on LET unfortunately.
Oh okay. I'm going to order a LA box to play around with ($15/y plan), hopefully the latency will improve over the next week. ( I have 1 box in each location, I use the NY for a site and 3 others for playing around with.
I'm curious who provides the DDOS protection in LA? I know Seattle is CNServers.
Edit: Found the answer here https://clientarea.ramnode.com/knowledgebase.php?action=displayarticle&id=85
@Nick_A any special promo for LA/the extra account credit?
Thanks!
I agree. With Shaw I get about 12-16ms, not as solid as DSL. Via work telus line, it's about 7-9ms. Love love love me some Ramnode Seattle (3 or 4 boxes there currently).
LA sucks with Shaw, and it's 100% on Shaw, best I could do was 85-90ms - Nick already did what he could. From Telus today I was getting 30-32ms YVR -> LAX.
With Shaw upping prices and lowering speeds, I think it may be time to look at Telus (who now has 100/20) or someone like TekSavvy/Lightspeed DSL.
Going off topic, but yeah, buy all the Ramnode boxes! Coming up on 1 year as a customer, not a bad thing to say about them.
Not at this point, sorry.
Hmm nice, going to have to pick one of these up and I'll have one in all RamNode locations :-).
Is there any way to make the ping from Toronto to LA Better?
According to https://wondernetwork.com/pings/Los+Angeles on average it's in the low 70's
Biggest jump I see here is #5 69.63.249.26 25ms
Please PM me with your local IP.
How does it look now @Stacy?
That's nice, although, I don't exactly get what's so good about Singapore as a location (the isps here are horrible)
