Just removed nginx and disabled the firewall, Apache performs a lot better but the server load doubles and my site receives 508 errors when I try to view it while the test is running. :(

@NinjaHawk said: That varnish cache is the bomb. Just male sure you have enough ram ;)

Yeah, we're running it on our webserver and the performance is amazing compared to just Lighttpd by itself. RAM usage went from 400MB to 500MB with Lighttpd, XCache, and Varnish so I upped the VPS RAM to 1GB. Our shared hosting server is only using 10% of the RAM available so I'm hoping varnish will start utilizing it because nothing else is.

Hmm. I mean there are a couple numbers that it's hard to say are comparable, but in the end I'm sure configuration played the role in that. I'd be satisfied with making a call that they're pretty equivalent.

That's how it looks to me. The normal end user won't notice the difference in the tests above but the tests I'm running now without the firewall are all over the place.

  • @KuJoe said: I will never use Lightspeed until they change their TOS. I find it sick that they control what can and cannot be hosted on an individual's webserver, regardless if it's legal or not.

Thanks for the heads up, i was planning to get Litespeed some day
