  • What about Hostigation? and Ramnode (ramnode uses SSD's, i think),

  • Do you still need benchmark sources?
    Some at www.lebstats.com :p

  • @DestroyeRCo Yep, we have data on some of those. None have been entered in the competition though. A full list will be posted when I close it.

@ErawanArifNugroho We're only accepting submissions from those running our benchmarking script (for consistency purposes).

    Thanked by 1ErawanArifNugroho
  • Ok, sent 3 benchmark to you :)

Here's week 2-3 results, I might just end this shortly as with the volume of benchmarks we're getting atm it's getting hard to keep track of everything:

    Secure Dragon - O32

Okay, the competition is over! Given that the other popular thread is discussing how IO is overrated I thought now would be a good time ;)

    The winners are:

    Winner x 2

    Prometeus - 128MB Yearly (561 MB/s per $) - Winner gets $24
    IPXcore - OVZ-32 (298 MB/s per $) - Winner gets $12

    Runners Up x 2

    Avante Hosting - Plastic (166 MB/s per $) - Winner gets $12
    Hostigation - OVZ-256 (136 MB/s per $) - Winner gets $48

SecureDragon was up there, but I realised that it was Joe actually just submitting normal benchmarks so they have been excluded from prizes. But you can see them on the full dataset here: http://bit.ly/Q7gnGW

I'll email the winners now, kindly provide Paypal addresses for payment.

If you'd like to see another competition of any kind let me know & I'll see if we can do something. We learned a fair bit from this one.

    hehe :P
Each time i see a small hang in any vps i am connected to, I am thinking of some bears weighting heavy on it...
Other than that, congratulations to Prometeus, I didnt submit any benchmark for competition, only tested the BudgetVM one because I care for Uncle Sal and didnt want to stress his servers that he loves so much :)

  • The lowest scorer gets more than all of us :]

It was a lucky shot I think :)

    Woot! Another honorable mention. :D

It looks like the prize is 1 year of hosting. I was puzzled reading the amounts to at first.

When one competition about networking ?
That will really be interesting, weight in traffic included, speed and price. I will sponsor that if needed, PM me with the conditions if interested.

  • @Maounique what's it? Download speed? or DOS speed?

  • MaouniqueMaounique Host Rep, Veteran

Well, not only download as upload is very important for hosting/streaming etc, i would say upload should weight more in the tests.
But @serverbear knows best how to test it. Ping, jitter and all included too.

  • Congrats to everyone who won.

I hope @Prometeus's $/MB/sec ratio stays the same as the plan size increases :)
Sounds like a great time to buy a 4GB VPS :P

  • i like the network test, hope it proceed in the near future

    Can we make a reverse-competition?

    root@mini:~# ioping -R .

    --- . (simfs /vz/private/1046) ioping statistics ---
    29 requests completed in 3172.5 ms, 9 iops, 0.0 mb/s
    min/avg/max/mdev = 0.3/109.3/458.7/118.2 ms

Yes, that's 9 iops and 0.0 mb/s. I'm not telling the name of the provider, I hope we can sort out this via a ticket.

  • I got an answer, RAID resyncing...
