Bandwagon Host - EU location is back!

dccdcc Member, Host Rep

Have you been missing our good old EU plans? I've got some excellent news for you, after almost a year our NL location finally has room for some new customers.

MICRO-64 $3.99/year 64MB RAM 1.5GB SSD 100GB Bandwidth on GigE

MICRO-96 $4.99/year 96MB RAM 2.0GB SSD 200GB Bandwidth on GigE

MICRO-128 $5.99/year 128MB RAM 3.0GB SSD 300GB Bandwidth on GigE

Our famous 5G plan: $9.99/year 512MB RAM 5.0GB SSD 500GB Bandwidth on GigE

Locations: Jacksonville, Florida (GoRack), Los Angeles, California (QuadraNET), Amsterdam, Netherlands (Serverius).

Platform: OpenVZ, control panel: KiwiVM

Existing customers can migrate to EU right from the KiwiVM panel, without data loss.

  • Wow!Great!

  • Good to see some Amsterdam offers again!

  • Looks like a good deal. I'm seriously thinking about buying one. :)

    Are there bandwidth upgrades available?

  • here is what Bandwagon's TOS says:

    We do not tolerate the following activities on our servers:

    * Spamming (including search engine spam, doorways, form spamming, etc.)
    * Mass mailing of any type (including double opt-in)
    * DoS or other attacks (either outgoing or incoming)
    * Hacking (including situations when your VPS was hacked)
    * Distribution of malware/viruses - with or without knowledge
    * Port scanning
    * IRC activity (client, server, bot, etc.)
    * Copyrighted content/mp3/movies/cracked software or links to such content – we honor all DMCA complaints
    * Torrents
    * Nested virtualization (running Qemu, etc)
    * Open proxies (due to abuse committed through open proxies)
    * Tor relays and exit nodes
    * Adult content
    * Data mining (due to heavy resource usage)

    it says torrent not allowed as well as adult content.

    what would you do if you see one of your client hosted adult content ?

    will you terminate client's account with no refund ?

  • @dcc: any plans on bringing UK location back?

    It is not allowed so don't do it. End of the story.

    In the TOS, have a look right after the "what is not allowed" list, it explains in detail how we handle violations. In short, we suspend the VPS. We do not terminate without a refund, however one can get themselves into a situation where their VPS will become locked until end of the year (this happens when you get 4 strikes in one year).

    I don't think we ever had one? :)

    Do you have a bandwidth upgrade available? Or what will happen when I exceed my bandwidth?

  • NeoonNeoon Community Contributor, Veteran

    SSD or HDD? Here you said its SSD; on the Order Page its HDD since you removed Netherlands.

  • @Infinity580 It's SSD. Pretty sure I saw @dcc mention somewhere that they're no longer putting up any HDD nodes, it's all SSD from now on.

    When you run out of bandwidth the VPS gets suspended until next billing cycle. However you can upgrade to a plan with more BW (VPS will be unsuspended instantly).

    Sorry we do not do separate bandwidth upgrades.

    @Infinity580 I can confirm that we no longer deploy nodes with regular hard drives. New accounts are created on SSD only. Looks like we would have to fix our website.

    hmm, probably I've mixed up something... sorry! but UK would be great though ;-)

  • Just bought the $10/y plan. :)

  • Any plans on offering IPv6 in Amsterdam?

    We will roll out ipv6 at some point at all locations, but at this time I do not have an ETA.

  • Any chance you bring back german location?

    Or any other location than AMS:p

  • dccdcc Member, Host Rep

    @foetti, @trexos We're actually about to set up another AMS location (SmartDC). We could not find a decent provider in Germany which would offer us some rack space at a cost that would make sense for Bandwagon Host plans.

  • booooo to no data mining

  • @dcc another AMS DC sounds nice, but NL is still "boring" :P
    btw you still don't plan to increase the disk size/make special plans with more disk space, do you? It's the only downside of your awesome deals.

    @trexos
    You still want us to stay in business, right? :)
    Sorry, SSD is still not that cheap... Especially enterprise-grade. And it looks like our users tend to fill up the whole quota pretty fast...
