Please help with cpanel account copy

Hello.
Am trying to copy an account from other server thru whm and got this message:

The system stopped waiting to connect to “my.ip.here” on port “22” after 10 seconds.

How can I fix it?

Thank you!

Did you change the SSH port number on the server your trying to connect to?

  • No. How can I check what kind of ssh port it use the server?

White-list destination IP as well as source IP from CSF (if you're using)

  • @sady how to do it?

  • jarjar Patron Provider, Top Host, Veteran

    grep "Port" /etc/ssh/sshd_config

    sady how to do it?

    csf -a IP ADDRESS

  • csf -a new.server.ip
    and
    csf -a old.server.ip

    right?

This should I write in the old server?

Do you own both of the servers ??

  • Yes i do

  • Host4GeeksHost4Geeks Member, Host Rep

    cat /etc/ssh/sshd_config

Paste output here. Or check what is the SSH port on the source server and if root login is permitted. If not, you should have a wheel user that can escalate to root.

Whitelist the new server's IP in cpHulk and CSF.

  • You could also try making a full cPanel backup, uploading it to new server and restoring it if it's just one account you need to move.

  • No there are more accounts.
I have whitehat the ip in cpHulk and CSF and again the same error. Seems my old server uses different ssh port.
Is there a option to change it from WHM?

Not from WHM I don't think but you can:

    vi /etc/ssh/sshd_config or
    nano /etc/ssh/sshd_config

and look for the Port line.

  • Ok restarted the port with this:

    http://crybit.com/how-to-reset-ssh-port-from-whm/

    Still the same problem.

  • Make backup of the account, transfer to new server and restore?

    To backup /scripts/pkgacct username
To transfer use ftp or scp
    To restore /scripts/restorepkg /backup/file/path

  • I have over 50GB in files sir.

EDIT: I see you already did this.

  • The port is ok now i have restarted as i said. But still cant connect to the server.

  • Try to ping IP to see if anything ok on network side.

  • Fixed thank god.
Now the subdomains that have database are working, those subdomains that dont have database (using html templates) wont open :)
    Anyone can help with this?
