[MXroute] 10% off e-mail hosting

Hi everyone,

I would like to introduce you to MXroute. MXroute provides e-mail hosting for your domain. Although we accomodate clients of all types, we cater most to people who already understand how e-mail works. Our goals are simple:

  • Budget prices
  • Premium quality
  • Reasonable support

We take a business model that we know works for the rest of the hosting industry and apply it to e-mail hosting. E-mail hosting is a market that is all too often known for high prices, low resources. Despite being subject to the same market conditions as the VPS market, it is still often over priced.

So what's the catch? Your support requests may take up to 24 hours to receive a response. If there is a service outage, this is not relevant. These will receive instant action, though resolutions are not always instant. Basically I expect you to know how to setup Outlook, but if you don't I will help you, and that help may not be instant.

We make no illusions about our service. We know that companies charge a lot more and offer a lot less uptime and redundancy. We provide a premium service by the following:

  • DDOS protection
  • Redunant front end routing points
  • Secondary relay to hold incoming mail in the event of outage
  • RAID10 storage with daily off-site backups

Now for the offers. I have a promo code for you below:

  • I personally would like to (and do) self-host my own mail (more options/security/etc.); however, keeping a functional anti-spam gateway is the most expensive part (RAM prices, and uptime). Although, I would still send mail from my own servers I would love to see a relay/MX backup option. Is this possible?

That's an interesting suggestion! Keep your eyes on this place, you may see an interesting angle in the next offer that just might satisfy this to a larger degree than you were hoping for :)

    Hi everyone,

What sort of Spam protection do your email services have? I do host my own ordinarily, but the spam I keep getting is really annoying.

Currently spamassassin with sanesecurity clamav signatures. It's doing well, but always looking to improve.

Is it possible to get a full backup of your emails whenever you want? Could I also move all my existing emails to the account?

We use a modified VestaCP for the front end, making it easy to download a full backup at any time. For migrating to our servers the recommended method would be imapsync.

I know, right? And he's a nice guy, too. Wtf??

  • @Jar Thanks for the offer.

This is a lot cheaper than hosting mailboxes in VPS boxes. Just grabbed one for review. Will move in more mailboxes if I found it stable.

  • BTW, possible to enable delivery notification report?

I pass in this in SMTP but seems like it's not supported.

     RCPT TO: <[email protected]> NOTIFY=SUCCESS,FAILURE,DELAY

    I got this:

    501 <[email protected]> NOTIFY=SUCCESS,FAILURE,DELAY: malformed address: NOTIFY=SUCCESS,FAILURE,DELAY may not follow <[email protected]>

Hola! I don't think Exim supports that. If I am mistaken, I would gladly consider this if pointed to some documentation of it's implementation. Certainly I recognize that there will always be much I do not know, but always eager to learn.

Oops, I just realized it's Exim. My bad :D

  • @Jar Does the plan MX700 comes with a dedicated IP? Can I buy an IP for my plan or a specific domain? Or is everyone is using the same IP for SMTP ? Thank you.

Hola! The IP is shared and rotated every 12 hours. You will find this to be better than a dedicated IP. Rather than your own IP with little to no reputation, you'll be using addresses that have been well groomed for a solid sending reputation by all of our clients. Should one end up on a blacklist, I deal with the problem and pull the IP from rotation for a period.
