FAQ

How long does VPS setup take?
Your VPS will be setup INSTANTLY upon receipt of payment (unless we happen to be out of stock). KVM VPSs are available instantly, but you are responsible for installing the OS (KVM Guide).

How can I pay?
We accept PayPal and Stripe.

Do you have a money back guarantee?
We have a 3 day money back guarantee on your first invoice of your first service as long as your account is in good standing.

What's the best way to get help when I need it?
Our VPSs are unmanaged, but you can open a ticket for acceptable support requests. We are also available on Live Chat, Skype, and IRC.

How fast is your network?
Our VPS nodes are connected to the Internet at a minimum of 1Gbps. Your VPS can use all of that speed on a fair share basis.

Do you have a looking glass?
New York City:

Atlanta:
http://lg.atl.ramnode.com
Seattle:
http://lg.sea.ramnode.com
The Netherlands:
http://lg.nl.ramnode.com

What's the difference between SSD and SSD-Cached?
Our SSD VPSs are built with RAID10 arrays of pure SSD storage. They are some of the fastest on the market. Our SSD-cached VPSs store "hot" data (data frequently called on by the server) in a RAID10 array of SSDs. These VPSs come with lots of hard drive space, but still have similar performance to an all-SSD VPS.

What operating systems are available?
We offer a variety of 32 and 64-bit OS templates and ISOs.

Do you offer cPanel?
Yes, we are an official cPanel NOC. You can order a cPanel/WHM VPS license here.

Do you offer DDoS protection?
Yes, we offer DDoS filtering as an add-on. Please see this article.

Can I use my VPS for ___?
Please see our AUP.

  • Applicable as discount to the Total Due or as Credits like DO?

    is the credit reoccurring?

  • Isn't there a potential for abuse?

Like I buy a $3.50/mo VPS for 1month only, I'll get $5 credit by paying $3.50 (+ a 'free' VPS for one month)
    o.o

Well, you will get 5$ on your account and you have to pay 3,5$ by PayPal. So it's not that you don't have to pay anything an receive 1,50$ (5,00$-3,50$ = 1,50$) as credit.

    No, it's just a credit.

It's one per account to minimize abuse. Your second month would be free with the credit, plus a little of the following month, after you pay for the first one.

I see I see. I was just pointing it out. Glad that its clarified :)

  • Can the /64 IPv6 subnet be routed to the server at once, or only single IPs from that subnet? I would like to assign the IPv6 /64 subnet to the openvpn server?

You would manually add IPv6 addresses from the /64 that we allocate to your VPS.

    That doesn't help with openvpn.

    What's the problem specifically?

  • @Nick_A said:

Openvpn requires an IPv6 /64 subnet assigned to it. I have done this so far using a tunneled IPv6 subnet to be used for openvpn. But he.net tunneled IPv6 has some disadvantages. So I wanted to use your vps to provide native IPv6 to my openvpn client devices.

So you want OpenVPN to be able to automatically use the entire /64? If so then yeah that's not possible with the current setup.

@Nick_A I was just about to sign up for 128MB SVZ (v2) in NL but then discovered the the coupon code didn't apply to my order - normal price is displayed on the PayPal invoice. Is that meant to be like that :) ?

Edit: Just checked the link above - no questions anymore

It is how the OpenVPN IPv6 implementation currently works, you need routed subnets so no luck with OVZ.

By the way, do you know if SolusVM does provide this for KVM? I assume so, but just to be sure.

It's handled the same way for KVM. You have to manually add IPs from your /64 that is listed in SolusVM. Does that help?

  • How come the coupons are back? I thought you specifically changed your pricing to remove the need for them?

You make it sound like it's a bad thing...

We have never offered this kind of deal before. We're giving it a try.

  • @Nick_A How long will this be available?

    No planned end date.

  • NyrNyr Community Contributor, Veteran

    Nick_A said: Does that help?

Unfortunately not, since a routed subnet (not individual addresses) is required. Sucks but... well, it's Solus :(

  • Hmm, so if I wanted to buy a 128mb one then I'd have to wait a year to redeem the voucher?
