Being an attack from multiple IP's surely is a pain in the ass to find out the culprit but yea many have got attacked recently.

    Because DDoS protection is very expensive. CloudFlare charges at least $200/mo. to provide some. Then again it would be just cheaper to host LET on a cheap - low end - BuyVM box with a DDoS protected IP.

    I don't think CC are likely to host LET anywhere other than CC. It would be an admission that their own network isn't 'up to it' if you like.

    Both LEB and LET use a paid CF plan. We also have a number of internal resources dedicated to keeping these websites online.

    We regret that there has been any downtime, it stinks, I agree. We're working hard to avoid it in the future.

    There were a lot of downtimes lately, it feels like LET can be taken down whenever the attacker wishes. Providers on LET are either keeping quiet or simply left. And this whole situation reflects badly on CC.

    Anyway, is it suddenly "cool" to get DDoS'd these days? Seems like LET providers want everyone else to know they've been attacked...

    Not true , giving other new or existing long term providers an intimation to get loaded with anti DDOS to prevent what happend to us.

    Still, I am wondering why this place is a magnet for the sort of people who openly perform DDoS attacks. It's not like something can be accomplished by DDoS anyway...
