Has anyone used ISPmanager?

Has anyone used ISPmanager before?

Is it good enough to be used to be used as a Control Panel instead of Cpanel on Shared Hosting plans. Pricing looks good.

Thanks in advance.

It is however the question is should you? Do you really want to give customers a panel that they are completely unfamiliar with?

Most people know cPanel and have little patience for anything else. That is not to say you just accept cPanel for hosting as Windows is accepted on a PC but there is a reason many do.

  • Why did you switch over?

Well giving an option that is it. Cannot afford to not go with Cpanel. So thought of using ISPmanager to
    Ultra cheap Shared Hosting.

Im used to cPanel and so are my clients, they didn't like the change and the raise in tickets etc. about how to carry out tasks just made it cost effective to pay for a cPanel rather than answer tickets and offer panel support.

Not saying its not suitable, just it is the expected standard from most hosting clients unless you make your own panel.

  • The only downside of ISPManager is that you have to preconfigure everything before installing it and you must follow certain steps while doing so. See HowToForge for quality tutorials on this subject.

You should check VestaCP and see how it behaves on your configuration.

VestaCP would be a far better option for that, ISP is a lot of work as @Blanoz stated above, whilst VestaCP is an extremely good, simple to use panel that is very light, free and ideal for what you want to offer.

  • There is not alternative to cPanel if you want to offer shared hosting with it as most of people are only used to cPanel & feel uncomfortable with any other panel.

  • Thanks everyone for your input...

If you look for Nginx + PHP-FPM, cPanel is not a option.

Have you tried maybe InterWorx? Their price is good.. and the quality is the best of all panel.

Try it.. you will change :)

It's not just about the OP in this case though, it's also about the customer.

As a customer you will love it.

  • VestaCP is really simple, if you just want something just works and easy to understand for your customers, it will be a great choice.
