EU VPS for gameserver (small)

in Requests

Small TS 3 server for 10 players & small counter strike server (1.6) for 10 players.

Note: Counter Strike 1.6 server uses only 1 core, so I need an good VPS that wont cause lags.

I used to go with HOST1PLUS: Intel® Core™ i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz, but they added VAT so it's kinda expensive for me ATM.

Test IP would be fine too.

    I'm pretty sure he won't pay for a dedi if the host1plus offer is too much?!

    Anyway, how much RAM do you really need?

    If you really want it cheap and if you don't need standard ports you can go with @AutoSnipe EU location (Germany).

    1vCPU Core (AMD Opteron 3380)
128MB -> 1GB RAM
3GB -> 7GB HDD
NAT IPv4 w/ 20 IPv4 Ports + /64 IPv6 Subnet
500GB -> 1.5TB Bandwidth @ 100mbit 

Location: Dusseldorf, Germany

Test IP: 5.45.176.3

from 3€ to 8€ per year.

    So, if you know what you need, we can work something out.

    one of those crappy AMD cores wont work. he needs atleast 2-4 for any GS

    Bulldozer Cores are terrible.

    Each to their own. It works wonderful for a multitude of purposes. and this isn't CS:S that he wants to run, minimum req for CS 1.6 Server is ~1.5ghz

    He can always contact me for a deal etc. ;)

    All i can say is it's a Low End Service, made not for profit, if you want all 8 Cores to Some Monster Server running around, so be it..

    Servers are basic, they get the job done. and probably perform oh so much better then Host1plus' Massively oversold platform (i wouldn't know as i don't have one, but it's a safe assumption)

    You say be needs 2-4 Cores, he says he only needs 1 Core.

    Just FYI, as of January 2015 if you are in the EU or if the host is in the EU you will have to pay VAT by law anyway so I would not let that put you off.

    @TarZZ92 since when is a i7 worse then i5? Does OVH offering old shitty i7 CPU's? as the Benchmark says nah.

    it's not usually however the i7 920 and 950 are crap compared to the i5's on offer. look at the performance difference on them. on top of that the i7's on kimsufi dont support many things including AES-NI

    I've checked, it needs better processor.
    It doesn't matter if KVM or OpenVZ, just need good processor and arround 1 GB of ram.

    What's the purpose of having a VPS? Considering he gives you the full access to both the game server and TS you should be just fine unless you plan on doing something else with the VPS specifically.

    You could go with NFOservers, I've already mentioned them above (including the test IP). They are using the E5-2690 v2 @ 3.00 GHz on majority of their nodes. You will get a dedicated HT CPU core, which in my opinion is the way to go when it comes down to hosting a game server(s).

    I can accommodate for that, you wouldn't get GSP as I don't use one. You'd get an account on the server to run your games, I could give you a VPS but you'd only have the ports you wanted.
