OpenVZ/Xen/KVM?
Our cloud uses OpenVZ, which allows for higher performance and efficiency out of our servers without the need for stand-by nodes. OpenVZ beats Xen and KVM by ~20% in benchmarks and we never oversell our servers!
For those who wonder, we use VPSGrid proprietary software, not SolusVM or OnApp. It provides us with a higher performance OpenVZ setup with cloud features such as failover, mirroring, balancing, and hourly upgrades.
