  • qhoster: Just go with "very fast" or something. Or prepare for a mega derail.

  • may be , just tested one Xen instance and it is 241MB.s, seems fast enough for low end ... Mean we are not using cheap 1 hard drive or low end raids. The cards are 9260-4i from LSI.

You're using a good RAID card and good disks, so definitely nothing to be ashamed of, just saying it's not the "fastest". I've seen SSDs deliver 6GB/s for example.

  • It ment to say best value for the buck in the low end VPS industry.

  • From an $18/yr KVM VPS with 256mb ram:

     dd if=/dev/zero of=test bs=16k count=64k conv=fdatasync
    65536+0 records in
    65536+0 records out
    1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB) copied, 3.21785 s, 334 MB/s

  • Cool, so are we done derailing the guy for not having English as his first language or are we gonna run this into the ground?

His post has been fixed, move on.

  • No problem, just to clarify the quality is not measured by who has the fastest moment raid array speed :)

Nice. What's the cost for extra bandwidth?

Why come into this guy's offer and try to brag about your services? He obviously didn't mean he has the fastest servers in the world. At least his company seems reliable, being around since 2004 (domain registered in '04), who knows if yours will be around for another 4 months...

  • Extra BW will be $5/mo. for every 1000GB. Yes we are since 2004 in the web hosting field. Domains qhoster.com / qhoster.net registered till 2021 and we do not think to leave the industry soon.

I'm not a fan of QHoster. But I think you should also review your advertisement. If I trust numbers posted here then definitely your clients aren't getting a VPS with 230K IOPS.

Sure no problem just £24/month is not exactly cheap ... Agree that SSD is offering great performance especially for MySQL.
