Same with Europeans, but if you play it safe then it should be okay.

Bijan: Nope I don't know any farsi I'm afraid.

William: No, it's 59USD for 2GB with ParsPack. Also by "150000 IRR" they mean tomans, so it's actually more like 120 dollars.

    Liam: nope ;)

  • Ahh. I really want to do this but I'm not sure about the legality... (paying from a US verified Paypal / US bank account)

  • So that means 1500000 Iranian rials, which is 122.44 USD (as of current exchange rates)

  • mhm, i see, still not very expensive tho.

  • Now i always wanted a a VPS in iran!!

I might just host one of my blogs on this vps :L

It could be construed that, as an American citizen, it's illegal for me to purchase your services.

Is your business registered in Iran? Or a different country?

Everyone routes through DCI or ITC - It's a law for censoring.

@liam: Thanks, apparently i'm a bit 'tarded today...

    10GB BW, 15GB HDD. lolwat.

what motivated you to host in Iran? You realize that most people with half a brain wouldn't buy it simply because of all the legal crap, not to mention reliability.

  • @kbar said: what motivated you to host in Iran

Are you too stupid not to read his offer in full?

as written on their homepage (r0ute.com) :

    WE ALLOW WAREZ!
Our Iranian based hosting services permits for the storage of warez (copyright infringed material), why? Because Iran never signed the Berne Convention, and is not under any binding treaty that criminalize distrubuting copyrighted material.

i think this posts should not be allowed on LEB/LET. This used to be a tech forum, not a place where to find bullet proof hosting. Reported.

Disagree. You do not have to use it to host warez; e.g. someone might use it to assess Iranian web censorship from the inside, and use that knowledge to develop a censorship-evasion system -- and verify that it works, right there on the spot. In other words it's just an unique location and might be useful in a lot of aspects.

@rm_ that's how they advertise on their home page. And warez hosting is not one of the many usage they suggest, but their only slogan. Their server, their adv strategies I just reported to moderators because I miss the good old tech leb/let posts and i think this is the exact kind (warez hosting) of offers we don't need here.

But of course i'm not one of the mods, so it's up to them. I just miss the great people that's not contributing to this community anymore. Sorry guys but not everyone is interested in HF.

I also disagree. Just because something that maybe illegal in your country doesnt meen that's the case worldwide. same with US laws. they dont apply worldwide.

  • @marrco said: I just reported to moderators because I miss the good old tech leb/let posts a

Mods have already seen this so stop being a troll and run along.....

  • @rm_ said: someone might use it to assess Iranian web censorship from the inside

Servers are not censored in the same way as homelines in Iran.

  • @William said: Servers are not censored in the same way as homelines in Iran.

So you meen these are less censored than adsl in iran?
