AntiDDoS in Softlayer?

jmginerjmginer Member, Host Rep

Hello, anybody know if Softlayer network has some kind of DDoS protection? In EU?

  • Yeah, it's called null-routes.

    :)

    and some called "mitigation" ?

  • I don't think Softlayer does DDOS mitigation. If they did, they would claim it pretty proudly on their site. Softlayer is an enterprise host now even more after being acquired by IBM so I think if you have the budget, they can probably set just about anything up for you, but I don't think any of their services include it by default.

  • Softlayer tanks the attacks for a while (~1-1.5 hours) as long as it's lower than your port and doesn't affect you. Then they nullroute the target IP.
