Awesome offers regardless but am I missing something?

  • Debian on atom?

  • Are you actually offering them at $5/mo recurring now or ?

    Thanked by 1agentmishra
  • I think $5/month is for annual billing...

    @agentmishra - IPs are $1/m. Atoms are $10/m or $5/month paid annually

@AntonySmith - I have to sanitise the posting to meet LET's rules so things are not 100% coherent from my copy/paste

@Mun - Ubuntu yes, Debian no. ISCSI boot/root is still broken

@mikeyur - see my comment to AntonySmith

  • Alright, have to pass.

  • @Mun - or fix the ISCSI root/boot on Debian, then we can add it again

  • Give me some tech specs. Some iteration of the problems and a test bed and I'll give it a shot with a fix if you will like.

@MarkTurner will there ever be any other locations or just Atlanta?

  • @lukesUbuntu - New York, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Dallas but all of these sites are out of the LET price range. Those are L5520/E3/E5 products only

  • That's Atom 230 super slow.

  • I'm not happy with Delimiter cause sales department haven't replied to my email for over a week now...

@MarkTurner sorry didn't see that should have checked it out the website. Do they have like a clearance sometimes in LA?

  • I had ordered the $30/20 Blade deal, but cancelled it a few hours later. I hadn't thought the "Warez, Linkz, X-Share or Torrent sites" line to mean that any torrents even perfectly legal ones weren't allowed. However while looking for something else I stumbled on a post that indicated any torrent activity would get the account terminated.

Part of my plan for the server was to act as a backup for my stuff and I had planned to use Bittorrent to backup bits from HumbleBundle onto the server. I had also been thinking of using btsync to get stuff of my home server up to the box.

I feel bad about cancelling, but it caught me out and I figured it was better to think about it some more. Sales/Support said I would need to cancel before the server was provisioned, though I had hoped there would be a 24hr cooling off period so I could test the server out but apparently there isn't. I would have liked to have seen how it performed compared to the Linode I'm currently on.

  • so it's not same day provisioning anymore @markturner

  • Yeah, I'm totally used to VPS auto provisioning, waiting sucks.
