Yes, it works. Only TCP trackers.
What did you set in the utorrent options? I can;t seem to make it work. Thanks!
Server localhost.
Port 1080.
No auth.
Thought Socks5 supported UDP?
Shadowsocks does not. At least out of the box.
Which trackers do only use TCP? I can't find any peers.
Any alteratives for socks5 proxies with udp support? I'm trying to avoid OpenVPN, but it seems to be the only efficient solution for now.
Also tried https://github.com/clowwindy/socks5_proxy which should support udp, but no luck with utorrent.
Thank you again.
Private trackers will use TCP (no need to have UDP servers). Public trackers can't function without using UDP.
I believe 3Proxy has support.
If you want to try, I created 3proxy packages for Ubuntu (12.04, 14.04)/Debian (8). They are largely untested (but compiled directly from upstream source). https://launchpad.net/~silvenga/+archive/ubuntu/3proxy
Thanks for the suggestion, but 3Proxy doesn't work with utorrent. I tried it before with no success.
I wonder why.
There's not many Socks5 servers that support UDP. I wonder if this is a uTorrent issue (I see a lot of bug reports). Why uTorrent (and not Tixati, Deluge, etc.)?
